The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Bruker Scientific, LLC for LabScape Complete Maintenance Service Agreement. This contract action is for serviecs for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Revolutionary FAR Overhaul 6.103-1 (SAP).


Bruker Scientific is the manufacturer of the LabScape Complete MALDI Biotyper and can provide planned maintenance and emergency repair since they train and retain in-house staff. These Bruker Scientific field engineers are available for in-person visits with quick response times as well as remote technical services, they use proprietary reagents and genuine original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts for instrument maintenance and repairs, are expertly acquainted with software application error codes and upgrades, and hardware malfunctions. Also, they can help troubleshoot technical issues with specimen runs. Lastly, the Bruker service agreement provisions are proprietary, and warranty will only be valid if serviced by the original manufacturer.


This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within 15 days of the issuance of this notice shall be considered by the government.  A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at email qsx8@cdc.gov by May 4th, 2026 before 10am EST.
