THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) AND NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. The Department of Energy (DOE) intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price award to a single source under the authority of FAR 13.106 Soliciting Competition, Evaluation of Quotations or Offers, Award and Documentation. DOE intends to award this requirement as a sole source to Mohawk Carpet Distribution Inc. This contractor is the sole manufacturer and reseller of the required Mohawk Forward Vision carpet tiles. The contractor shall provide the Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), 2,432 SYs of the GT135 Mohawk Forward Vision carpet tiles in Skill color and 18 4-gallon buckets of Enpress adhesive. The carpet tiles will be used in remodeled space in the OSTI facility and will also serve as backup replacement tiles for damaged carpeted areas. Therefore, the carpeting must coordinate, connect, or interface with the existing system by matching to design, quality and pile as this is the building standard. Changing the existing carpet tiles in order to match another type of carpet would not be cost-effective to the government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 314110, Carpet and Rug Mills, with a size standard of 1,500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotes. Any vendor who believes it is capable of meeting the DOE-OSTI's requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which will be considered only if received by September 28, 2020 by 5:00 p.m. EST. Responses to this posting must be in writing and submitted to contact@example.gov. A determination not to compete the proposed order based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Please note that any prospective offeror must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov prior to award in accordance with FAR part 4.11.
