The USDA, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) intends to issue an award on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)) to CEM Corporation, 3100 Smith Farm Road, Matthews, NC 28104-5044 for the requirement of service contract for MARS5 Microwave Digestion System. The tasks and deliverables for services include one (1) scheduled preventive maintenance, one (1) additional available preventive maintenance visit, 24 hour telephone troubleshooting support, guaranteed 36 hour response time (exclusive of weekends and holidays), use of OEM parts only, and a loaner instrument if the repaired instrument cannot be returned within 36 business hours during the contract period. Service visits required shall not incur additional charges on travel, labor and/or parts. All services shall be performed by a CEM Corporation certified technician. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 811210. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the same or similar supply. All capability statements received by the closing date of this publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
