NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE STERIS CORPORATION

The USDA ARS - WBSC intends to award a sole source Firm Fixed Purchase Order (PO) to STERIS CORPORATION, 5960 HEISLEY RD, MENTOR, OH, 44060-1834. This order is to purchase two (2) additional AMSCO 250LS Steam Sterilizers with STERI-Green Water Conservation Systems & be installed at USDA ARS, Crop Improvement & Protection Research Unit (CIPRU), 1636 East Alisal Street, Salinas, CA. The Firm Fixed PO will include the following: 1. Two (2) AMSCO Lab 250 Small Scientific Laboratory Steam Sterilizer, 20 X 20 X 38" - SF821301124000M000* a. Two (2) Loading Rack & Two Shelves-20X20X38" Sterilizer For Single Door Unit Only - FV021005* b. Option: Two (2) STERI-Green Water Conservation System & Power Door c. Option: Two (2) Seismic Kit for 20in Small Steam Sterilizer - OPM 2013 - FV020018 d. Installation for two (2) 20 Inch Lab 250(LS) Electric Sterilizer - SE011182 e. Seismic Anchoring for two (2) units (Excludes x-raying the floor, through bolting, & associated hardware) - SE0000082 f. Deinstallation - Small Sterilizers - SE6018421 g. Installation for one (1) 16 Inch Lab 110(LS) Electric Sterilizer - SE011192 h. Seismic Anchoring for one (1) units (Excludes x-raying the floor, through bolting, & associated hardware) - SE0000082 Please Note: These *Items are currently on GSA/VA Schedule V797D-60613 as of 6/1/16. USDA ARS, CIPRU, Salinas, CA, needs to purchase two (2) additional STERIS' AMSCO Lab 250 Small Scientific Laboratory Steam Sterilizer for their ongoing research. CIPRU currently owns STERIS' AMSCO autoclaves and these additional autoclaves will aid in: 1) maintaining continuity in the preparation of their media & sterile supplies/equipment that are mission-critical; 2) sterilizing contaminated materials once the research has been completed; 3) assuring that destructive plant pathogens are contained at the facility and does not infect the surrounding commercial agricultural fields; and in 4) ensuring that all data results and requirements are constant & validated during their ongoing research. The STERIS' AMSCO LS Series Small Steam Sterilizers consist of 20 preprogrammed cycles and sturdy construction help satisfy the most challenging laboratory applications; and comprise of the 110LS and the 250LS. Each sterilizer is designed to process loads at temperatures ranging from 110C to 141C; they have pre-Vacuum gravity or liquid cycles which can be selected by the user; and their parameters are user programmable. Overall, the STERIS' AMSCO LS Series Small Steam Sterilizers offers 1) Flexibility - Provides standard cycles, such prevacuum, liquid and gravity, but also a new lab waste cycle. The sterilizer can also be configured for BSL3+ or BSL4 applications; 2) Sustainability - New STERI-Green and STERI-Green Plus water conservation systems and other energy saving options; 3) Easy to use - Easy to program control, with full flexibility for basic and advanced lab applications; and 4) Reliable - ASME/PED certified 15 year warranty on the pressure vessel, 2 year warranty on the door gasket and 1 year warranty on the entire sterilizer. Pursuant to the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The award date will be on or about September 26, 2016; and this Notice of Intent is not considered as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a Request for Proposals (RFP). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination, by the Government, to compete this proposed PO based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will consider all responses received by 10:30AM PST, September 26, 2016. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
