U.S. Government Notice of Intent to Lease Space in Ithaca, NY Description UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT Notice of Intent to Lease Space Using Other Than Full and Open Competition in Ithaca, NY. The United States Government intends to award a lease, using other than full and open competition to the Integrated Acquisition and Development, Ithaca, NY for the offices of the United States Geological Survey. The following measures and facilities are already incorporated into this building that uniquely meets the requirements for this agency: Cold and warm warehouse storage space; Workshop and fabrication space, geologic core-storage space, lumber and material storage space; Space for 2 USGS-specially outfitted Boston Whalers (19ft & 21ft), conference room, library, common computer, work and file space; Specially designed computer server room; Electronic equipment storage and testing room; Battery storage and recharging room; Wet chemistry lab; Water quality prep/handling/processing room; and Long term file, equipment, and office supply storage areas. The current office is located adjacent to Cornell University, making interaction with academic colleagues, use of Cornell facilities (libraries, labs, etc.) easily accessible. The office is also located right next to the Tompkins County Regional Airport, the regional U.S. Postal Service and FedEx facilities, all of which are routinely used by office personnel. The shipping facilities offered are critical for time-dependent, water-quality sample shipments to numerous USGS and private testing labs across the U.S. The current location is also uniquely suited for the USGS as it includes a test well roughly 200 feet from the building used for testing groundwater data collection equipment, as well as monitoring long-term groundwater levels. The building also houses other Federal Agencies which share resources with the USGS. This lease will be for a total of 11,040 ANSI BOMA square feet of fully serviced space for ten years, five years firm term lease.
