The United States Special Operations Command plans to extend contract H92222-04-D-0008 with Kokatat, Inc. for an additional 12 months, covering the period from October 1, 2008, through September 30, 2009. This sole source modification pertains to the Maritime Assault Suit System (MASS) and is being executed under the authority that allows for no other suppliers to satisfy the agency's needs. The extension will not increase the scope of work but will provide sufficient time to establish a new, competitively awarded contract for the MASS system. The current contract is set to expire on September 30, 2008, and failure to extend it would severely impact Special Forces training quality and mission readiness. This notice does not solicit proposals and serves as the only official communication regarding this action. The contract supports vital training requirements for Special Operations forces, reinforcing the critical nature of continuity in the supply of MASS gear. The follow-on contract, once established, will be competed to ensure future requirements are met competitively. The office managing this contract is located in Tampa, Florida, with designated points of contact available for inquiries related to the contract modification.
