Recovery-HITECH Program Management & Technical Support

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services plans to issue a Time and Materials Task Order under an existing Blanket Purchase Agreement with the Logistics Management Institute to secure additional program management and technical support services. This support is intended for the CMS Office of Financial Management’s FMSG Program Office and will focus on aiding the development, implementation, testing, and operation of the HITECH initiative, which is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The estimated cost for this six-month effort, running from March 15 to September 26, 2011, is under $600,000. The HITECH initiative promotes the adoption and meaningful use of Electronic Health Records and related health information technology systems in compliance with ARRA requirements. This program includes financial incentives for eligible healthcare providers starting in 2011, as well as penalties beginning in 2015 to encourage compliance. The contract will be managed through the CMS Office of Acquisition and Grants Management, with designated contacts available for inquiries, and the work will be performed at CMS facilities in Baltimore, Maryland.
