AI Contract Overview

This contract originally sought to award a Firm Fixed Price agreement for the supply of nozzles used in fuel and oil servicing for the M88 BII program at the Rock Island Arsenal - Joint Manufacturing Technology Center. The procurement was designated as a total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 326199. The anticipated order included 83 units of a specific nozzle assembly, each comprising multiple components such as a ring, coupling half, plug, hose assembly, bushing, and nozzle cap with specialized pistol grip and self-closing features. The solicitation was planned for electronic release, with important details about amendments and proposal submissions communicated through an online platform. Interested small businesses were encouraged to regularly check the provided federal business opportunities website to stay informed of any updates or changes. However, this contract amendment serves to cancel the requirement entirely, stating that there is no intention to resolicit this requirement in the near future. Although the original solicitation was posted in late 2017 with a closing date in early 2018, the cancellation means no further procurement activity related to this nozzle requirement will proceed. The government emphasized the electronic nature of the solicitation process and the responsibility of potential bidders to monitor updates, but ultimately, the procurement has been halted before any award was made. Points of contact from the Department of Defense for any inquiries included Laura A. Vervaecke and Andrew Ritchie at the Rock Island office.
