AI Contract Overview
This contract involves the procurement of a single unit of a plain, round nut identified by NSN 5310-01-121-8186, with a required delivery timeline of 20 days to a designated destination aboard the USS Cape St George CG 71. The contract is governed by various technical and quality requirements as specified by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) master list and relevant military standards for packaging, marking, and inspection. The contract strictly prohibits the inclusion or contact of mercury or mercury-containing compounds in any hardware or supplies, with specified exceptions for certain applications such as batteries or weapon systems. Inspection and acceptance are to be carried out at the destination point, and packaging must conform to MIL-STD-2073-1E and MIL-STD-129 without any special markings beyond the standard. The procurement is under solicitation number SPE4A6-26-T-03Q3, managed by the Department of Defense’s ASC Commodities Division, and has stringent conditions for shipment and handling, including fast, traceable transportation methods rather than parcel post. Sampling methods for quality verification follow established military standards, allowing the manufacturer some flexibility between attribute or variable inspection methods as specified. The contract includes references to specific quality provisions such as removal of government identification from non-accepted supplies and physical identification of bare items. Contact for this solicitation is Vondra Matlock at DLA, with the contract focusing on compliance with all outlined DLA packaging, quality, and shipping protocols.
