The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) has procured 100 Grammarly Enterprise licenses in FY2025 to enhance the quality and consistency of its internal and external communications. The agency intends to renew these licenses for the upcoming year, leveraging Grammarly's AI-powered writing assistance tool that offers real-time suggestions to improve grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, engagement, and tone across multiple devices and platforms. This tool is particularly beneficial for the communications and executive teams, streamlining the drafting process for press releases, web content, emails, and other official documents, while also helping to overcome writer's block by providing topical ideas and appropriate reading levels. The use of Grammarly has been pre-approved by the State of Ohio AI Council, making it accessible for all state agencies if desired. The procurement process is managed under the OhioBuys platform, with a contract value estimated between $5,000 and $15,000, and the solicitation was posted on October 17, 2025, with responses due by October 31, 2025. In addition to this contract, Ohio EPA is involved in a variety of procurement activities, including solicitations for specialized equipment and services such as a pedal bike elliptical for medical accommodations, fencing projects across multiple locations, renewal of Adobe software licenses for enterprise use, and a comprehensive Brownfield Remediation Program. These solicitations reflect the agency’s ongoing efforts to support operational needs, infrastructure improvements, and environmental initiatives through competitive bidding processes, with specific deadlines and requirements outlined for each project. The overall procurement strategy emphasizes transparency, responsiveness, and adherence to state policies to ensure effective allocation of resources and successful project execution.
