AI Contract Overview

The Department of Defense, specifically the USACE Kansas City District, awarded a sole source contract through the GSA for 5,219 rentable square feet of office space in Kansas City, Missouri. This procurement was expedited to ensure the Levee Project Office became operational quickly to support an upcoming levee rehabilitation project. The award was justified by urgent time constraints, specific security requirements, and the need for a location within a limited delineated area near the river. The selected facility was chosen because it is already an FSL IV secure site and is active in the System for Award Management, eliminating the need for additional security upgrades or registration delays. Because the property owners were already familiar with GSA lease processes and the building already housed multiple GSA tenants, the agency was able to save both time and money while securing the only suitable option that met all operational needs.

Property owners are familiar with GSA lease process and no additional time for SAM registration/authenitcation was required. The site is already a FSL IV facility, no additional security requirments need to be implented which saved both time and money. The location of the building is near the River and inside the small delineated area, there were no other suitable options that could meet USACE needs.
