AI Contract Overview

The Ohio Department of Commerce, through the Ohio State Fire Marshal, is seeking a qualified contractor to perform a comprehensive five-year inspection of switchgear, transformers, and disconnects at their facility. The scope includes detailed testing and inspection of electrical infrastructure, oil sampling from transformers and switchgear, and a thorough report documenting inspection notes, oil sample results, and recommended actions. Oil sampling is a routine part of the maintenance process, with previous tests conducted in 2014 and 2020, including additional analysis in 2020 to investigate elevated hydrogen levels. The work requires careful coordination to ensure safety, likely necessitating a complete power shutdown, which must be scheduled on a pre-arranged weekend. All work must be completed during weekday hours on a designated Saturday, with the contractor responsible for obtaining necessary permits and covering associated costs. Sub-contractors must be approved by the Department of Commerce, and the contract will be awarded based on the best value, considering both price and quality. The bid must include a rate sheet and an itemized quote, and the process begins with a mandatory walkthrough scheduled for February 27, 2024.
