The project involves installing multi-mode fiber optic cables, specifically Corning 12-strand, armored, plenum-rated, multi-mode (MM-OS4) fiber, to connect multiple floors (7th, 8th, 11th, 27th, and 33rd) to a new main distribution frame (MDF) on the 36th floor, where switching equipment will be relocated. The scope includes running direct fiber runs, supporting the cables throughout their length, and installing necessary hardware such as rack-mounted or wall-mounted LIUs, splice trays, adapter blanks, patch cords, and adapter panels. All fiber must be tested and certified according to BICSI standards, with detailed labeling, cable path diagrams, and firestop materials provided as part of the deliverables. The vendor will also handle grounding, provide a scope and quote for removing old cables, and coordinate with OhioMHAS staff for site walkthroughs scheduled in late January 2025.
