On-Call Coating Specialists 2026-31

The City of Sacramento’s Department of Utilities is seeking on-call coating specialists to provide expert services for a wide range of utility infrastructure, including storage tanks, buried and above-ground pipelines, drainage systems, treatment facility equipment, and pump and sump stations. Specialists will be activated as needed to conduct coatings damage and failure assessments, recommend repair strategies, and evaluate appropriate coating materials for specialized applications such as NSF-61 certified environments, underwater conditions, gap sealing, and structural reinforcement. Services will encompass assessments of various coating types—like high-solids epoxies, polyurethanes, and high-performance coatings—applied to diverse substrates including steel, concrete, fiberglass, and plastics, under challenging conditions such as confined spaces, submerged environments, and elevated structures. Additional responsibilities include evaluating surface preparation quality and performing warranty assessments to ensure long-term coating integrity and compliance.
