The City of Cranbrook is seeking bids from qualified contractors to crush approximately 3303 cubic meters of stockpiled asphalt, concrete, and brick at their Public Works Yard located at 201 Cobham Ave W. The material, which includes debris from road, sidewalk, and building demolitions, must be processed into 50mm (2-inch) minus sized material. The successful bidder will be responsible for supplying all necessary equipment for crushing, stockpiling the processed material, and removing any metal contaminants using a magnet. Additionally, large concrete pieces must be broken down to manageable sizes before crushing, requiring the contractor to have appropriate breaking equipment. The crushed material is to be added to an existing composite stockpile adjacent to the area, and the contractor is expected to maintain a clean and organized site. Work is scheduled to begin around mid-March 2026, with completion expected by the end of April. Operations will be allowed only during weekdays between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The volume of material to be processed was confirmed by a survey conducted on January 16, 2026, as detailed in the McElhanney Survey Report included in the contract documentation. The contract reference is BCCRA2026-T-003, and interested parties must submit their bids by February 19, 2026.
