ONE (1) ROBTIC BLAST BOOTH

Contract SPE4A826P0044 was awarded by the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation to R.P. Gatta, Inc. for the procurement and installation of a robotic blast booth at Tinker Air Force Base. The system is designed for automated mechanical coating removal on flight controls for KC-135, E-3, B-1, and B-52 aircraft, utilizing a FANUC R-30iB robot and controller to improve precision and reduce operator exposure to hazardous materials. This was a sole-source acquisition justified under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1 due to the unique capabilities of the FANUC brand and the need for compatibility with 53 existing robots on-site, which is estimated to save over 1 million dollars in life-cycle costs over ten years. The turnkey award includes shipping, rigging, installation, operator training, technical data, post-processor software, and Item Unique Identification tagging. The total contract price is 5,533,169.00, following several modifications. Initial award was for 5,406,727.00 on March 25, 2026. Modification P00001 implemented DoD Class Deviation 2026-00040 and added FAR 52.222-90 regarding DEI discrimination. Modification P00002 increased the price to 5,429,765.00 to extend the length of the robotic blast booth. The final modification, P00003, increased the total value by 103,404.00 to upgrade the reclamation floor and add a combustible dust hazard analysis, while also requiring an updated Plan of Action and Milestones and extending the delivery date.
