The City of Orange City, Florida is accepting sealed bids to competitively select a qualified licensed Contractor to provide construction services associated with ITB B226-0-2024/DRS as specified by the Technical Manual and Construction Plans associated with this project.
This project involves the construction of the Orange City Lower Floridan Aquifer Exploratory Well. The Work consists of furnishing all permits, labor, equipment, and materials for the construction and testing of the facilities consisting of, but not limited to, the following:
1. Construction of one 17.4-inch production well with a total casing length of approximately 650 feet and a total depth of 900 feet including surface casing, well casing, open hole, grout, development, water quality testing, plumbness and alignment testing, disinfection, well flange, concrete pad, security fence, and temporary access drive.
2. Straddle packer tests shall be performed on the pilot hole to determine distinct water quality and quantity intervals.
3. Specific capacity tests shall be performed on the pilot hole during construction to determine the increase in productivity with depth.
4. A series of geophysical logs and a video log will be performed both on the pilot hole and on the water supply well after completion.
5. A step-drawdown test shall be conducted on the water supply well completed in the Upper Floridan aquifer, and may also be conducted on the water supply well completed in the Lower Floridan aquifer.
6. An 8-hour constant rate discharge test shall be performed on the water supply well completed in the Upper Floridan aquifer, and may also be conducted on the water supply well completed in the Lower Floridan aquifer to determine the relative productivity of the Floridan aquifer in the area.
7. Water quality testing shall also be performed during the construction and testing of the water supply well.
