Ordinance No. 1484

The ordinance establishes specific conditions for proposed demolitions that may be exempt from a discretionary demolition permit, including a “Fire Hardening Update,” as defined by the ordinance, provided that the replacement building materials are approved by the State Fire Marshal or Sierra Madre Fire Marshal and are reasonably in keeping with the style of the existing building materials. The ordinance also establishes other exemptions and exceptions that are aligned with those provided for certificates of appropriateness in relation to designated historic landmarks.
