The Ocean Sciences Division, NRL Code 7300, requires highly-skilled oceanography research support. Ocean dynamics modeling will incorporate innovative computational numerical techniques and data assimilation approaches. The scope of this effort encompasses data collection from near-real time, in situ underwater sensors or via remote sensing at high resolution, and assimilating data into reliable, three-dimensional models and multi-horizon or extended forecasts. Scope includes sea surface temperature, ocean and atmosphere coupling and processes, arctic sea ice, ocean acoustics, environmental impacts on sensors, marine geology, geophysics and geodetics, geologic processes, and geospatial analysis.
