Otay 2nd Pipeline Phase IV

The City of San Diego is advancing the Otay 2nd Pipeline Phase IV project, which entails the abandonment of a 3.2-mile segment of existing 36-inch and 40-inch steel transmission main and the installation of a new 4.2-mile 48-inch Cement Mortar Lined and Tape Coated transmission main to enhance regional water delivery capacity. The project also includes the construction of approximately 0.2 miles of parallel 8-inch PVC distribution pipe along The Hill Road to serve 17 private residences. All work is confined to unincorporated San Diego County and the City of Chula Vista, following Bonita Road, Terra Nova Drive, East H Street, and Paseo Ladera from Sweetwater Road to Telegraph Canyon Road. The project involves the removal and backfilling of abandoned Bonita Pipeline infrastructure, alongside necessary real estate actions including easement vacations, acquisitions, and access agreements. Replumbing of affected properties is required to ensure seamless service transitions.
