Full Description

The VA Maryland Healthcare System, Perry Point, Maryland intends to solicit, negotiate and award a firm fixed price contract for the disposal of regulated non hazardous waste (General Solid Waste), for the base period of one year from the date of award, with four option periods of one year. Option years will be exercised at the discretion of the Government. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and supervision necessary to provide collection, removal, transportation, and disposal of one (1) 30 to 40 cubic yard dumpster (Contractor owned) of non hazardous solid waste (processable and non-processable) that is generated at the Perry Point Veterans' Hospital, Perry Point, MD 21902. Biomedical waste, sharps, hazardous materials or waste and recyclable materials are not included. This waste could include but not limited to furniture, tires, no longer needed equipment/scrap, and other non recyclable items. Collection will be once every three weeks during normal business hours M-F, 8:00am - 4:00pm (no holiday collection). One additional same size dumpster may be utilized with the same terms as needed by request from the VA. The contractor shall comply with all current county or municipal, state, and federal laws, regulations and guidelines when collecting, storing, removing, transporting, disposing of and/or recycling all wastes. NAICS for this requirement is 562111, with a size standard of $11.5 M. The electronic version of the solicitation will be issued on or about 9 December 2008 or sooner at this website. No hard copies of the solicitation will be issued. Any amendments or additional information to this solicitation will also be available at this website.
