The Naval Supply Systems Command, Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville, intends to issue a sole source award to Wartsila Defense, Inc. for the procurement of four H30513-05/8 Packing Follower Assemblies. As the Original Equipment Manufacturer, Wartsila Defense, Inc. holds the proprietary rights and engineered designs necessary to ensure the proper fit and function of these components. These assemblies are critical parts of the stern tube seal for the USS Detroit, which is essential for preventing shaft leakage and ensuring the vessel remains fully mission capable and damage control ready during towing operations. The procurement falls under NAICS code 339991 for Gasket, Packing, and Sealing Device Manufacturing. Because the use of OEM materials is required to maintain equipment warranties and operational integrity, the government has identified Wartsila Defense, Inc. as the only provider capable of meeting these specific needs. This notice serves as an invitation for any other eligible sources to provide clear and convincing evidence of their ability to fulfill the requirement within three calendar days of publication; otherwise, the sole source acquisition will proceed.
