The AFISR Agency intends to award a sole source fixed price purchase order to the Georgia Institute of Technology for the creation of a reactor design model and accompanying documentation. Under this noncommercial requirement, the contractor will develop a model for a candidate reference reactor based on government specifications and a specific fuel loading profile. The project requires the use of PENTRAN for modeling and verification against government results, as well as the use of PENBURNS to calculate burnup across representative reactor zones. This acquisition is conducted under FAR Part 13 and is classified under NAICS code 541712. While the government has determined that only one source is reasonably available, the notice allows other capable firms to submit written notification of their ability to meet the specifications for evaluation. Eligible contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry and possess a DUNS number to be considered for the award.
