Perioperative Services Optimization and Performance Transformation Consulting Services

University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) seeks a qualified perioperative consulting firm to partner with UMC leadership, physicians, and staff in assessing and optimizing perioperative services with the goal of building upon the organization's existing strengths and advancing operational performance to the next level.
This engagement is intended to complement and strengthen that foundation by identifying opportunities to further optimize perioperative operations, enhance collaboration and accountability, maximize existing resources and capacity, and establish sustainable practices that support continued excellence.
The selected firm will conduct a comprehensive, data-driven assessment of perioperative services and work collaboratively with UMC stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance operating room throughput and utilization, optimize surgical scheduling and block utilization, improve patient flow and turnover performance, strengthen perioperative governance and accountability, enhance materials management and financial performance, and further develop leadership and operational capabilities.
The engagement is intended to move UMC from strong existing practices toward an even more integrated, efficient, measurable, and sustainable perioperative operating model. The selected firm will be expected to provide both assessment and hands-on implementation support, working alongside UMC leaders and frontline teams to prioritize opportunities, implement meaningful improvements, demonstrate measurable results, and build upon successful practices already in place.
A key objective is to ensure that improvements are developed collaboratively with the people who lead and deliver perioperative care every day. The consulting firm should bring external expertise, industry perspective, data-driven insights, and proven practices while recognizing and incorporating UMC's existing knowledge, experience, culture, and successful processes.
UMC’s goal is to build upon the strength of its existing perioperative services and advance operational performance through measurable improvements, early and sustainable successes, enhanced collaboration, and strengthened internal capabilities. The work should promote alignment across executive and operational leadership, physicians, anesthesia, nursing, and key support departments while providing UMC teams with the tools, knowledge, data, and accountability needed to sustain improvements and continue advancing perioperative performance over time.
