The contract involves the installation of permanent disinfection boosting systems at two critical reservoirs within the City's water distribution network: the La Granada and Lang Ranch Reservoirs. These sites were identified as high priorities following a comprehensive Citywide Water Storage Optimization Study completed in December 2023, which addressed water quality challenges stemming from reduced demand and increased water age after the 2022 drought. The project aims to enhance water quality and system reliability as part of broader improvements to the City's water storage and distribution facilities, which include various pump stations, reservoirs, and related infrastructure. The solicitation, issued by the City’s Public Works Department in California, specifically targets these disinfection boosting systems to improve water quality management. The solicitation was posted in April 2026, with a response deadline in late May 2026. The department is seeking qualified vendors to undertake this project as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade facilities, including upgrades for wildfire resiliency, drainage, containment, and emergency power systems. Key contacts for this solicitation are Mario Mazed, Engineering Assistant, and Grace Ng, Assistant Analyst - Purchasing, both based in Thousand Oaks, CA.

The City's Public Works Department manages the City's water storage and distribution facilities consisting of 11 Calleguas turnouts (connections to the Calleguas Municipal Water District supply), four hydropneumatic pump stations, 16 pump stations, 16 reservoirs, and two boosting stations. Many of these sites need improvements to address enhanced wildfire resiliency, site drainage, accidental tank overflow containment, pump and electrical equipment enclosures, fencing, and the addition of emergency generators and disinfection boosting stations. In December 2023 a comprehensive Citywide Water Storage Optimization Study was concluded, addressing water quality improvements within the City's water distribution network due to reduced demand and longer water age in the reservoirs after the 2022 drought. The study identified La Granda and Lang Ranch Reservoirs as high-priority sites for the installation of a permanent disinfection boosting system to assist with water quality.
