AI Contract Overview
The contract pertains to the procurement of cotter pins identified under NSN 5315-00-059-0187, with a specified quantity of 75 pieces and a delivery timeline of 90 days FOB origin. The items must comply with various technical and quality requirements outlined by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), including adherence to MIL-STD-2073-1E packaging standards, MIL-STD-129 marking requirements, and prohibition of mercury or mercury compounds in any supplied hardware or packaging. Inspection and acceptance are to occur at the origin, with zero tolerance for non-conformances unless otherwise specified. Sampling plans will follow MIL-STD-1916 or equivalent zero-based methods, focusing on critical, major, and minor attributes with specified Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs). The contract designates the cotter pins as commercial items produced in accordance with the ASME B18.8.1 standard and the NASM24665 specification, ensuring consistency with established non-government standards. Removal of government identification from non-accepted supplies is mandated, and item unique identification is not required per the customer’s request. Packaging, preservation, and palletization must comply with tailored DLA requirements, explicitly forbidding the intentional addition or contact with mercury unless functionally necessary in specific applications. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense's ASC Commodities Division under NAICS code 332510, with solicitation and response deadlines set in early 2026.
