Platoon Bulk Charger

The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Grounds is preparing to issue a solicitation for the development of a Platoon Bulk Charge (PBC), a ruggedized, modular charging unit designed to operate effectively in severe tactical environments. This device will be capable of charging various batteries, including conformal wearable batteries, standard tactical batteries, and radio batteries, accommodating extreme weather conditions such as rain, high temperatures, and humidity. The procurement process anticipates awarding up to two Prototype Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs) under the authority of 10 USC 4022(a), with the potential for follow-on production OTAs, all structured on a firm-fixed-price basis. The pre-solicitation notice provides early access to draft documents for potential Offerors to review, although these documents are subject to change before the final solicitation is released, which is tentatively scheduled for June FY25. The award is expected by the end of the fourth quarter of FY25.
