Playground Equipment, Structures, and Accessories Market Research

The Commander Navy Installations Command is conducting market research to gather information on innovative, inclusive, and sustainable playground equipment, structures, and accessories for its Child & Youth Program centers located on U.S. naval installations both domestically and overseas. This request, identified by solicitation number HDQMWR-26-I-2001, is strictly for information-gathering purposes and does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or a commitment to award a contract. Respondents are encouraged to provide details on product capabilities, including compliance with ASTM F1487, F2373, F1292, F1951, and other relevant standards, as well as IPEMA certification and the employment of NRPA-certified Playground Safety Inspectors for installation and safety auditing. The equipment must support children of all ages and abilities, integrate natural and durable materials, allow for modular configuration and future upgrades, and perform reliably across diverse environmental conditions. Responses must be submitted electronically via email no later than August 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM CST, with a maximum file size of 25 MB per submission; multi-part responses are permitted if needed. The submission must include corporate experience, product specifications, pricing structure, age-group inclusiveness, and feedback on current requirements, though no cost or contract value is being solicited at this stage. The Navy is particularly interested in vendors who can deliver systems that reduce lifecycle costs through adaptability, require minimal maintenance, and meet accessibility standards for children with mobility impairments. Although no contract will be awarded based on this RFI, the information collected will inform the development of future procurement actions.
