Full Description

This proposed procurement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Project Description: The Government intends to solicit an Invitation for Bids for a Design-Bid-Build Construction Project to begin construction on Poplar Island which is located in the Chesapeake Bay between Jefferson and Coach Islands and approximately 20 minutes by boat from Tilghman Island. The contractor will be required to excavate two (2) openings in an 8 feet high dike to create tidal inlets. One tidal inlet will be approximately 100 feet wide and riprap armored. The second tidal inlet will be approximately 150 feet wide, unarmored, and utilize an articulated concrete block mat to create a drivable roadway. In accordance with DFAR 236.204 "Disclosure of the Magnitude of Construction Projects", the magnitude of construction for this project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. The duration of the project is approximately 120 calendar days. The North American Industry Classification System code for this procurement is 237990 which has a small business size standard of $36.5 million. Additional information in accordance with the statement of work will be included in the invitation for bid package. This solicitation will be available on July 17, 2017. A site visit will be conducted, date to be determined. The solicitation will be provided in an electronic format, free of charge to all authenticated account holders of Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) System. Please note that all Corps of Engineers acquisitions are considered sensitive, but unclassified documents, and require users to have a valid MPIN entered in the FBO system to access packages. Vendors must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database to receive a government contract award.
