The National Research Council Canada (NRC) has a requirement for the supply, delivery, and installation of the Powder Flow Analyzer to facilitate the powder synthesis activities at Mississauga-CEI.
At the new CEI-Mississauga facility, the design and production of new battery materials is one of the core activities under the CBMI funding. The feedstock, as well as the final battery materials, are in powdered form, and both from the processing as well as the application perspective, determining the flow and packing behavior of the powders is critical. For repeatable performance and quality control, it is vital to quantify the powder flow and settling characteristics which can be conveniently done using a Powder Flow Analyzer. The Powder Flow Analyzer measures various characteristics of powder including flowability and compactability. These characteristics are also vital for the optimal processing of powders in the target application. At Mississauga-CEI, the powders synthesis team requires this equipment to understand and quantify the behavior of various powders that they synthesize for direct use in clean energy and other related applications.
