FEDBIZOPPS NOTICE OF INTENT FOR SOLE SOURCE: The United States Coast Guard intends to award a firm fixed price contract to Powersmiths International Corp, 10 Devon Road, Brampton, ON, L6T 5B5 Canada. This procurement is for the acquisition of a sole source supply using simplified procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) number is 535311 - Power, Distribution, and Specialty Transformer Manufacturing, with a business size standard of $20.5 million. a. Only one responsible source and no other item will satisfy the USCG requirement. b. Only the Powersmiths transformer will be accepted at this time. The Powersmiths transformer currently offers the longest guaranteed performance of 32 years. No other manufacturer currently has a performance guarantee that long on their products. This guarantee performance on the transformer provides an overall life cycle cost which is both more cost effective and a faster payback than other transformers. This synopsis is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals. DO NOT submit a bid/quote at this time. Any qualified source may submit a response, which if timely received, will be considered by this agency. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement can be conducted. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses must be received NLT 11:59 am Hawaii Standard Time (HST) on 29 August 2019. Responses received after this will be considered late IAW FAR 52.212-1(f) and will not be evaluated.
