FEDBIZOPPS NOTICE OF INTENT FOR SOLE SOURCE: The United States Coast Guard intends to award a firm fixed price contract to Powersmiths International Corp, 10 Devon Road, Brampton, ON, L6T 5B5 Canada. This procurement is for the acquisition of a sole source supply using simplified procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) number is 535311 - Power, Distribution, and Specialty Transformer Manufacturing, with a business size standard of $20.5 million. a. Only one responsible source and no other item will satisfy the USCG requirement. b. Only the Powersmiths transformer will be accepted at this time. The Powersmiths transformer currently offers the longest guaranteed performance of 32 years. No other manufacturer currently has a performance guarantee that long on their products. This guarantee performance on the transformer provides an overall life cycle cost which is both more cost effective and a faster payback than other transformers. Any qualified source may submit a response, which if timely received, will be considered by this agency. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement can be conducted.
