Full Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to NexAir, LLC for the procurement of an MVE maglock liquid nitrogen freezer equipped with welded on maglock security apparatus, Vapor Platform, and Vapor Sleeve. The Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) freezers being procured arenecessary for BSL$ environment. The racks must match the following usable interior height of 29.3" and diameter of 31.75", have a Select Agent program locking lid requirement for long-term storage of Tier 1 Select Agents, and communicate with the alarm system in the High Containment lab. Due to the specialized requirement of the high containment laboratory environment, netAir has modified them from an "off the shelf" model to meet CDC requirements by Chart (MVE) as follows: 1. The temperature probe B has been moved into the fill valve and wired into the fill valve alarm software, to ensure a timely response in the event of a stuck valve, 2. These LN2 freezers are modified with a welded on magnetic locking system (required for CDCs Select Agent Program requirement for long-term storage of Tier 1 Select Agents), 3. The LN2 freezers have a TEC-3000 monitor with the ability to communicate with CDC's in-house REES monitoring system. nexAir, LLC is the sole distributor for these custom made MVE LN2 freezers, and has trained representatives that have access to service the LN2 freezers in their BSL4 environment. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
