The City of Atlanta’s Department of Transportation is initiating a multi-step sealed bid process to procure experienced vendors for the ongoing barricade deployment and traffic-control services supporting the Atlanta Streets Alive event series. This procurement begins with a prequalification phase, followed by an Invitation for Bid, aimed at securing a vendor capable of handling the installation, monitoring, adjustment, and removal of barricades, cones, road-closure signage, and other traffic-control devices across one to four miles of city streets during monthly Sunday events. Vendors must demonstrate proven experience in event-based traffic management, route-specific planning, staffing, and compliance with MUTCD standards, while also showing the ability to coordinate effectively with ATLDOT, MOSE requirements, and local law enforcement. Each selected vendor must provide a dedicated project coordinator, pre-event planning support, onsite response personnel, and detailed post-event reporting to ensure streets are safely closed and reopened within permitted timeframes, with all equipment properly positioned and visible throughout the event. The vendor is expected to prioritize pedestrian safety, maintain strict responsiveness to ATLDOT directives, and deliver accurate documentation after each event. Required capabilities include supplying barricades, traffic cones, warning devices, detour and closure signs, and deploying trained crews for setup, real-time monitoring, emergency breakdown services, and post-event summaries. The project demands consistent reliability across recurring events, with attention to timing, visibility, and regulatory compliance. Interested parties must respond to the prequalification requirements by the deadline of July 23, 2026, and are encouraged to attend the upcoming Pre-Solicitation Conference for further guidance. The primary point of contact for inquiries is Teri Swinton of the City of Atlanta, reachable through email or phone provided in the solicitation notice, with full details accessible via the official procurement portal.

The City of Atlanta, on behalf of the Department of Transportation, will shortly undergo a Multi-Step Sealed Bid process comprised of a prequalification phase as the initial step, followed by an Invitation for Bid (IFB), towards the procurement intended to support the continued safe and timely barricade deployment and traffic-control services for the Atlanta Streets Alive event series. The work includes installation, monitoring, adjustment, and removal of barricades, cones, road-closure signage, and related traffic-control devices for monthly Sunday events along one to four miles of City streets. Interested vendors during the prequalification phase should be prepared to show experience with event-based traffic-control operations, route-specific planning, staffing, MUTCD-compliant equipment, and coordination with ATLDOT, MOSE requirements, and law enforcement. Vendors should also be able to provide a dedicated project coordinator, pre-event planning support, onsite response personnel, and post-event reporting. The City's expectation is that the selected vendor ensures streets are closed and reopened safely, equipment remains properly placed and visible throughout the event, and deployment/removal occurs within the approved permit windows. The selected vendor must prioritize pedestrian safety, responsiveness to ATLDOT direction, and accurate documentation after each event. Vendors capable of providing barricades, traffic cones, warning devices, road-closure and detour signs, trained deployment crews, event-day monitoring, breakdown services, and post-event summaries for recurring Atlanta Streets Alive events are encouraged to prepare for this upcoming solicitation process. A Pre-Solicitation Conference will be noticed and then held to provide more details and address questions.
