The California Department of Technology, on behalf of the Secretary of State, is seeking vendor input on the Request for Proposal and related documents for the Notary Automation Project 2.0 (NAP 2.0). This project aims to replace the existing Legacy Notary Automation System, which currently manages essential data such as notary public commissions, signature images, Apostille processing, notary education vendors, and seal manufacturers. The new NAP 2.0 solution will be a cloud-based system designed, developed, tested, and deployed in phases to improve the management and regulation of notaries public in California. The solicitation invites qualified bidders to propose solutions for the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of this updated system. The project is critical for modernizing how the state stores and processes notary-related information and supports regulatory functions. The deadline for vendor feedback is May 28, 2026, and interested parties can contact the project lead, Becky Fatur, for additional information. The project will be performed within California and is part of the state's ongoing efforts to enhance public service infrastructure.
