The CENTCOM Contracting Command, Contracting Support Division, on behalf of the U.S. Army, United States Forces - Iraq, intends to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis, with MTU Detroit Diesel, Inc, (MTU), located at 13400 Outer Drive West, Detroit, MI 48239-1309. This requirement is for MTU to overhaul four marine propulsion diesel engines and service the associated gearboxes, provide Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) materials required to service engines and OEM certified training at Umm Qasr Naval Base, Umm Qasr, Iraq. This announcement is in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(2). This notice is not a request for quotes and a written solicitation will not be issued. A firm fixed price award will be made. Any other responsible source able to provide the service is encouraged to respond to this announcement within (10) days of this announcement. This information must be clear and unambiguous and should contain enough substance to render a proposal acceptable.
