The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intend to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract, to the Oxford University Press for publication of a supplement in the Journal of Infectious Diseases (JID). The contractor will prepare and execute publication of an estimated 30 to 40 scientific manuscripts with a target of 300 pages in both print and electronic media on the subject of progress toward global eradication, the scientific basis for this global initiative, and strategies and policies for certifying the world as polio-free and stopping the use of oral polio vaccine in the post-eradication era.. The JID/Oxford University Press appears to be the only organization that can provide the product to meet all the program requirements including cost and time constraints. No Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Any interested companies are welcome to submit their credentials and ability to provide the product, via e-mail, esw2@cdc.gov . Include reference number (2012-N-14943). Send responses by 9/12/12.
