Prepreg Composite Material

CONTACT INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND WITHIN THE BODY OF THS ANNOUNCEMENT ************ National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)/Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) has a requirement for the purchase of composite prepreg material to be used in the development of Payload Attachment Fittings (PAF). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase items from Hexcel on a sole source basis. The composite prepreg material is solely produced by Hexcel, it is an internal formulation that is not manufactured by any other vendor. This proprietary Hexcel product will be used as the composite prepereg material of choice for use in fabrication of the Space Launch System's PAF. This proprietary material produced by Hexcel supports and satisfies the Government's requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications in writing to Betsy Ledbetter/ARCS at contact@example.gov or fax to +1 (555) 000-0000 no later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 08/18/17. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
