Preventative Maintenance Agreement NDP NanoZoomer

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Office of Acquisitions and Grants Services hereby issue this notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price order to Hamamatsu Corporation for a service agreement for a NDP NanoZoomer RS s/n 100068. Due to the highly specialized nature of the instrument, all parts must be OEM and replaced by a certified technician with experience in TDI (Time Delay Integration) to capture technology and able to discern issues upon calibration with the dedicated system design. Hamamatsu is the manufacturer of the instrument. Only trained technicians for the particular instrument will be allowed to work on this unit. The period of performance is for One Year (1) 09/17/2012 to 09/16/2013 with three (3) one year renewal options. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS; no solicitation document is available and telephone request will not be accepted. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 1 day after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
