Procure Natural Uranium

The intent of this request is to identify potential offerors for market research purposes only. ***** Request for Information (RFI) Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), which manages and operates portions of the Savannah River Site (SRS) under a Department of Energy (DOE) prime contract, seeks information from parties, capable of providing Natural Uranium (NU) supplies that is unobligated on use. The SRS complex is located approximately 15 miles south of Aiken, South Carolina and is 310 contiguous square miles. Scope Summary/Description SRS intends to use NU to down-blend higher enriched uranium for the purposes of providing a source of targeted Enriched Uranium (EU) or down-blending High Enriched Uranium (HEU) to put it in a safe form for direct disposal. We desire the NU to be within a specification grade to ensure either the quality of product can be maintained or that waste specifications requirements can be met. Suppliers responding to this RFI shall include evidence of the following: 1. Past performance for material delivery 2. Lead time for material delivery 3. Can material be provided in either an Oxide or Nitrate form 4. Capability to ensure quality requirement to meet specification grade for the material 5. Typical packaging material used to ship, to include interfaces with material E-mail response addressing items 1 through (5) above shall be submitted by 5:00 pm est. on May 18, 2020 to Barbara McCarty, barbara.mccarty@srs.gov. A supplier's response to the RFI does not guarantee they will be selected to participate in the RFP event.
