Originally constructed in 1984 and 1989, the existing wharves have been determined to be seismically deficient. A retrofit is required to conform to the Port’s Wharf Design Criteria (Resource MM) and help ensure business continuity. In addition to seismic improvements, the Project will include upgrades to the waterside crane girder system to address deteriorating conditions, and to accommodate increased wheel loads associated with larger Shore-to-Ship cranes. To support the successful delivery of this effort, the Port is seeking a qualified consultant to provide pre-design, design, and design support during the bidding, construction, and close out phases.
