Full Description

Bethel Township, Delaware County, is seeking to retain a PennDOT qualified engineering consultant to provide design, permitting, bidding support, and construction consultation to update traffic signal timings and replace existing vehicle detection systems at the following intersections: • Naamans Creek Road (Route 491) and Ebright Road (T-345) • Naamans Creek Road (Route 491) and Foulk Road (Route 261) • Foulk Road (Route 261) and Zebley Road (T-341) • Foulk Road (Route 261) and Bethel Road (SR 3017) The project is funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) Green Light GO program. Currently the intersections experience lengthy queues and delays as the timing programs outdated and the detection systems are in need of replacement. The selected consultant shall develop new timing programs for the four intersections and provide new detection systems for each. Beyond possibly changing pedestrian clearance times, no changes to current pedestrian facilities (curb ramps, push buttons, pedestrian signal heads) are anticipated.
