Title: REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) REGARDING SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETATION SERVICES DRAFT REQUEST FOR STANDING OFFERS AND RELATED CONSULTATIVE PROCESS As part of the development of a Request for Standing Offer (RFSO) for sign language interpretation services for parliamentary, conference and major government events for the Translation Bureau. The period during which call-ups against the Standing Offer (SO) may be made will be 2 years from the date of issuance of the SO. Canada for the Translation Bureau reserves the right to extend the Standing Offer period for 3 additional periods of one year each.
1. Presentation
Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSC), on behalf of the Translation Bureau (the "Bureau"), is in the process of identifying the capabilities and requirements for the acquisition of sign language interpretation services to meet the needs of the Bureau and to support its various programs, operational requirements and projects.
2. The purpose of this RFI is to obtain industry input and information on:
a) Attachment A - Draft Statement of Work; b) Attachment B - Proposed Pricing Model c) Attachment C - Questions for Industry; d) Attachment D - Definition and Acronyms e) ideas related to the proposed market that could lead to improvements and efficiencies for Canadians; f) industry interest and readiness; and g) an understanding of the impacts this procurement may have on industry.
3. Nature of this RFI
This RFI does not constitute an invitation to bid. It will not result in the award of a Standing Offer. Therefore, potential suppliers of the goods or services described in this RFI should not reserve goods or facilities or allocate resources on the basis of the information presented in this RFI. This RFI will not result in the establishment of a vendor list. Therefore, whether or not a potential supplier responds to this RFI will not preclude them from participating in any subsequent procurement process. The purpose of this RFI is only to obtain industry input on the topics addressed in this RFI.
4. Requests for Information
As this is not a solicitation, Canada will not necessarily respond in writing or by issuing responses to all potential suppliers. However, respondents with questions about this RFI may direct them to :
