The City of Claxton is seeking statements of qualifications and proposals from experienced engineering firms capable of providing comprehensive services for federally assisted projects, including preliminary reports, final design, and construction administration. The selected firm will support projects utilizing federal funds such as Community Development Block Grants, Georgia Environmental Finance Authority programs, USDA initiatives, and other federal sources, ensuring compliance with federal procurement regulations (2 CFR 200). The initial focus is on assisting with a FY2025 CDBG project aimed at public infrastructure improvements, including water, sewer, road, and drainage systems, with potential for future contracts over the next two to three years for additional planning, administrative, and related services. Interested firms should submit their qualifications by March 17, 2025, for consideration, with the possibility of future opportunities based on project needs. The contract is expected to be awarded within a year, with project sizes ranging from $500,000 to $5 million. The project emphasizes compliance with Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968, encouraging Section 3 Business Concerns to apply. The City of Claxton, part of Georgia’s State and Local Government, will evaluate submissions on a project-by-project basis, and the selected firm will be expected to demonstrate expertise in federally funded community development projects.
