42--FILTER ASSEMBLY,GASThe contract pertains to the procurement of 30 units of a Gas Filter Assembly identified by NSN 1H-4240-014294379-X3, with deliveries mandated to two DLA distribution points: W25G1U in New Cumberland, PA, and W62G2T in Tracy, CA. The Government intends to award this contract through a sole-source procurement under FAR 6.302-1, as the technical data required to source or repair the part is not owned by the Government and cannot be acquired, developed, or obtained through any feasible means, and reverse engineering is deemed uneconomical. Although this is a non-competitive action, all responsible sources may submit expressions of interest, capability statements, or proposals within 45 days of the notice, or 30 days if an existing Basic Ordering Agreement applies, with the Government retaining full discretion to determine whether to pursue competition based on the responses received. Information gathered will be used solely to evaluate the necessity of a competitive procurement and not to obligate funding or initiate a formal solicitation. The acquisition does not fall under FAR Part 12 commercial item policies, but vendors may still identify within 15 days whether they can meet the requirement using a commercial item. The solicitation number is N0010426QBZ54, with a response deadline of August 17, 2026, and the contracting office is the Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mech in Mechanicsburg, PA, with Brianna Walker as the primary point of contact.
