Solicitation Number: DE-SOL-0009134 Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Potential sources who believe they can provide the services listed below are invited to submit substantiating documentation in writing to the identified point of contact. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Logistics and Facilities Operation intends to award a sole source contract to Schneider Electric USA, located in Owings Mills, MD to provide and install a remote control station for each switchgear outside the entrance to the main switchgear room at DOE Headquarters Forrestal Building. Control Stations shall have the capability of controlling the main feeder breaker for each main switchgear. Contractor shall provide all labor and materials. Materials include 3/4 ? EMT, (4) new control stations, wire, mounting material for the stations. Contractor shall also provide texting/commissioning service to ensure proper installation. All work shall be done in accordance to NFPA standards and proper PPE shall be worn. The DOE is using exemption to competition 6.302-1(a) (2) (ii), One Responsible Source. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available for this requirement. If a firm believes the DOE should not pursue this sole source procurement to Schneider Electric USA, then they should submit a capability statement and pricing information for the requirement by 3:00pm EDT November 13, 2015. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
