The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is seeking bids for the purchase and delivery of three Class B vessels, each with an associated trailer, to enhance their water transportation capabilities within Albany County. These vessels, classified as powered watercraft under 25 feet, are designed for versatile operational use by NYS DEC Law Enforcement, including patrol, search, and rescue missions across various waterbodies, even in moderately adverse conditions. The vessels will be equipped with built-in down-scanning sonar to aid in equipment and victim searches on the bottoms of waterbodies, replacing older units that have become costly to maintain. The procurement has no set-aside goals for MWBE or service-disabled veteran-owned businesses, and the contract is scheduled to run from October 1, 2025, through March 31, 2027, with bids due by September 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The contract value is estimated to be between $300,000 and $600,000, and the procurement is managed by the NYSDEC, with the primary contact being Peter Buck. The bidding process emphasizes the purchase of vessels suitable for diverse operational roles, emphasizing durability and advanced features like sonar technology. The vendor selected will have previously provided similar vessels, with Inventech Marine Solutions noted as an entity that has supplied comparable equipment within the past five years. The project aims to modernize and maintain the operational readiness of NYS DEC law enforcement watercraft, supporting their mission to ensure safety and environmental protection on New York’s waterbodies.
