Pure Water Project Las Virgenes-Triunfo

The State Water Resources Control Board is funding the Pure Water Project Las Virgenes-Triunfo, a major infrastructure initiative to advance water purification and recycling in California. The project centerpieces include constructing a new advanced water purification facility along Agoura Road in Agoura Hills, fed by a 1.7-mile, up to 24-inch source water pipeline linking it to the Tapia Water Reclamation Facility. From the purification facility, a 2.2-mile, up to 20-inch purified water pipeline will deliver reclaimed water to the Las Virgenes Reservoir, complete with a new outfall discharge structure. Additionally, a 14.1-mile, 12-inch concentrate pipeline will transport byproduct brine from the facility to the Calleguas Salinity Management Pipeline at Hill Canyon, ensuring responsible disposal. Minor upgrades at the Tapia WRF are also included, primarily aimed at ceasing discharges into Malibu Creek except during emergencies or qualifying storm events.
