Lee County Public Utilities is seeking a single-source procurement for SSTC60 and A860 IX cation and anion ion exchange resins to be used at the Green Meadows Water Treatment Plant. These proprietary resins, manufactured by Purolite LLC, are essential for removing iron and organics from raw water to improve softening and demineralization processes. The county intends to partner with Purolite LLC because they are the sole manufacturer and provide critical annual resin analysis reports at no cost to monitor equipment condition and determine replacement needs. The procurement process is being conducted under solicitation number SS260371KCW, with a response deadline of September 23, 2026. Because these specific resins have consistently exceeded effluent standards for iron and total organic carbon while reducing brine usage, the county does not intend to transition to alternative hardware. Interested vendors capable of supplying these specific resins and supporting analyses are directed to contact Kevin Walker in Lee County Procurement Management.

*** THIS IS NOT A BID *** The description of services intended for purchase from a single source is posted in accordance with section 3.9, Procurement Ordinance 25-11, and will be posted for a minimum of 15 business days. Commodity or Service Required: Purchase of Cation and Anion Ion Exchange Resins Description: Lee County Public Utilities seeks to execute a single-source procurement for SSTC60 and A860 IX cation and anion ion exchange resins used in the Green Meadows Water Treatment Plant by Purolite LLC. These resins are used to remove iron and organics from raw water by enhancing softening and demineralization. LCU does not anticipate transitioning to alternative hardware at this time. Accordingly, responses to this posting will be accepted only from vendors that can provide the SSTC60 and A860 IX ion exchange resins and supporting analyses. Intended Single Source: Purolite LLC Justification for Single Source Acquisition: Purolite LLC is the sole manufacturer of the proprietary SSTC60 and A860 IX ion exchange resins and offers the products directly to the County, including providing annual resin analysis reports at no cost, which are essential for monitoring resin condition and determining when replacement is necessary. These resins have consistently met and surpassed effluent standards for iron and TOC while also reducing brine usage compared to standard resins. Recommended Procurement Approach: For the reasons stated above, Lee County Procurement Management intends to utilize the Single Source Procurement method to purchase from Purolite LLC to supply the above. Respond to: If your firm feels they have the ability to supply the above, please contact Kevin Walker, Lee County Procurement Management at [email protected] for review.
