PXE Green LLC is seeking a small indoor commercial cannabis license from the California Department of Cannabis Control for a project located at 2914 Poplar St., Oakland, CA 94608. The project involves establishing 10,000 square feet of indoor cannabis cultivation within an existing 6,375 square foot industrial manufacturing facility on a 0.7 acre parcel. Previously used as a furniture restoration and fabrication workshop, the facility will undergo tenant improvements to be rehabilitated for cannabis use without expanding the existing building footprint. The site is situated in a business mix planning zone consistent with the City of Oakland Municipal Code Chapter 5.81, as well as associated community and general plans. It is surrounded by commercial and residential uses and is served by PG&E for power and EBMUD for water. The project has been granted a Class 32 Categorical Exemption under California environmental regulations, as it is located in an urban area and is determined to have no significant environmental impacts or value as a historic resource.
