THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of Acquisition on behalf of its Office of Production Engineering intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price commercial contract for preventive maintenance and calibration services for their twenty-one (21) Q-Magnetic Sensors modules. The intended contractor is Cummins-Allison Corporation, 852 Feehanville Drive, Mount Prospect, IL 60056. The Government intends to award a sole source contract utilizing a Justification for Soliciting from a Single Source IAW FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b). Anticipated Period of Performance: one twelve (12) month base and two twelve (12) month option years. The Q-Magnetic sensor modules are used for inspecting magnetic properties in printed US currency. The preventive maintenance ensures that the instrument is functioning properly so necessary inspections can be performed. Therefore, it is imperative that annual preventive maintenance and calibration of the Q-Mag sensor modules are performed to ensure that the equipment is functioning properly so they can provide accurate and consistent results. The Q-Magnetic sensor modules are designed and fabricated by Cummins-Allison Corporation. They are the only source known to have the knowledge to service and support these proprietary modules. There are no known authorized 3rd party service providers for this equipment.
